Nature Detectives

A wonderful resource for all ages!  Great for home and school, Nature Detectives is a MUST SEE!

Nature Detectives is a wildlife club and website for children run by the Woodland Trust.

 Mission: "Active, ground-breaking and fun, it’s packed full of creative activities and ideas to get kids outside, with a challenge for young members to do every weekend. The hugely popular website, offering hundreds of free downloads from spotter sheets and collecting bags, to puzzles, craft and games, is visited a million times every year."

Among the many offerings you'll find:

• Packs – a variety of themed packs full of activities including: one  pack for each season, story telling, mini beats, outdoor play, trees, games, ...
• Play – games, quizzes ,puzzles
• Downloads – sheets to print and use including certificates. Champion blackberry picker is my favourite!
• Half Term ideas
• Treasure Hunt - for Spring and Summer
  
• Ten ideas for light evenings – “spend an hour with your kids”    

The Home page even has a "species map" that allows you to view season’s records of plants and animals around the United Kingdom.

There is also a fee paying club to join with additional activities which would make a fantastic birthday gift.
